Many Dreams, One Mission: The Campaign for DePaul
Dear Friends,
There’s always something new happening at DePaul. In January the university opened a facility devoted entirely to academics—the Arts & Letters building—which added 47 state-of-the-art classrooms to the heart of the Lincoln Park Campus. Just across the street from the Student Center and less than a block from the Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center, it is the new home of the departments of English and History of Art and Architecture.
As our students took their first classes in the 119,000-square-foot building, they found a Digital Commons offering computer stations and wi-fi access throughout the entire facility, which was designed as a place where students can gather and learn inside and out. Natural light pours into each of the four floors onto lounge and study areas, while a stain-glassed image of St. Vincent de Paul presides over the main entrance. A landscaped courtyard welcomes students and faculty to relax and interact under an inviting pergola.
Continuing DePaul’s commitment to good stewardship of our natural and energy resources, DePaul will apply for LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. In 2009 DePaul was awarded LEED Gold for the Monsignor Andrew J. McGowan Environmental Science and Chemistry Building.
Stop by our newest campus facility and enjoy the buzz of activity as students settle into what will become their academic home away from home for decades to come.
Sincerely,
Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M.
President

"DePaul University is not its buildings; those change. DePaul is not any specific program; those change too. DePaul is the collective body of women and men who believe in an idea: that an extraordinary education should not only be available to those with great means, but all those with dreams."
